Montezuma in the Ribbons

Montezuma do Mirante made a successful debut at the 2001 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida at Third Level with his trainer Silke Rembacz - where he stood out as the only Lusitano competing. The pair recently finished third scoring 63.9 at the Westchester Fairfield Dressage Show, a CDI competition in Port Jarvis, New York. "It's fun to bring him out and prove him against competition because he's usually the only Lusitano out there," says Silke.

WEF Debut for Montezuma Interagro
Archive: November 2001

Montezuma Interagro, a Lusitano stallion in training with Grand Prix dressage rider, Silke Rembacz, made his debut at the Winter Equestrian Festival with impressive results.

"He had a score of 65.6," said Silke who has worked with the horse for just over a year now. "That's really good." Montezuma was showing for the first time at 3rd Level in West Palm Beach. Meanwhile, his training is coming along nicely as Silke works on him with the help of Michelle Gibson.

"He's going really well," Silke said. "His work mentality is super. He tries hard every day. He's starting his changes and he has a really good piaffe, passage and pirouette. I have had a lot of nice comments on his gaits and extensions when showing."

Brazil Nationals - a Showcase for Interagro
Archive: July 2001

Interagro Lusitanos made headlines at the Nationals again - this time at home in Brazil.

Last year seven Interagro horses flew in to the United States to take many prizes at the Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association Show in Fort Worth. In December, Interagro horses took the stage in São Paulo where judges included João Pedro Rodrigues and Francisco Bessa de Carvalho of Portugal and Davi Carrano of Brazil.

Due to the breeding season Interagro showed just 14 horses in the morphology/halter classes instead of their usual entry of 30 to 35. In spite of the relatively small contingent, 75 percent were placed in the top six.

Most of them were offspring of the stallions from Interagro's headquarters in Brazil. Photographs of these stallions and information on their bloodlines are in the Gallery of Stallions.
