Born on Feb 28, 1971, gray coated NIQUEL (BF) was the founding stallion of Interagro, where he serviced from 1976 to 1988. Bred by the well-known Portuguese Coudelaria Barata Freixo, that became notable for having the best CN lineages, Nìquel (BF) is son of Selecto (CN), a stallion of the best Spanish ancestry, grandson of Primoroso (DH), Destinado (DH) and Cartujano (APT), the two formers being among the pillars of the current Lusitano breed, and the latter being one of the founding stallions of the notable Coudelaria Andrade. The mother of Níquel (BF), Joeira (BF), was one of the most important brood mares within Barata Freixo, where she produced several children as extraordinary as Níquel (BF) and Bronze (BF), the latter also an import servicing at Interagro. Among the offspring of Níquel (BF) there are six of the most important mares that formed the genetic base of Interagro, like Biluca do Mirante (many times National Champion), Dama do Mirante, Diva do Mirante, Ema do Mirante, Eva do Mirante and Ela do Mirante, all of them awardees in National Exhibitions, most with Gold Medals. Several other children descend from these mares and, just like themselves, they have stood out both morphologically and functionally in exhibitions and tests. Among these many we can list Formosa do Mirante, Lindeira do Mirante (Great Champion International), Menina do Mirante, the three of them Gold Medalists, Navarro do Mirante (another Interagro stallion), Monetario Interagro, and also the following excellent males and females exported to the USA: Mulata Interagro, Nino Interagro, Tanino Interagro, Napeira Interagro and Narsil Interagro, this latter winner at many championships of Portuguese Riding in the years 2000 and 2001.
